Iva Jovic defended her Guadalajara Open title on Saturday, beating Peyton Stearns 6-4, 6-2 in the final of the WTA 500 hard-court event. The second seed, WTA No. 16, also won here in 2025 over Emiliana Arango, and she finished this edition without losing a set in four matches.

The final lasted 80 minutes. Jovic held all nine of her service games and broke three times from five chances; Stearns saved two match points and won six of the 18 games.

Stearns, WTA No. 60 and unseeded, had come through the quarterfinals against Sloane Stephens and the semifinals against Liudmila Samsonova, both in straight sets.

Defending champion Iva Jovic and unseeded Peyton Stearns will meet for the Guadalajara Open title after Friday's semifinals at the WTA 500 on hard courts.

Jovic, the second seed at WTA No. 16, beat sixth seed Cristina Bucsa 6-4, 6-1 in 92 minutes, saving 11 of 12 break points. Bucsa, WTA No. 44, served six double faults and held half of her eight service games.

Stearns, WTA No. 60, came through 7-6(7), 6-2 against eighth seed Liudmila Samsonova in two hours and 11 minutes. Samsonova led 3-0 after breaks in games 1 and 3; Stearns broke back in game 8, lost serve in game 9 and broke again in game 10 before taking the set in a tiebreak. Stearns broke twice more in the second set.

Stearns has not dropped a set this week, including a quarterfinal win over Sloane Stephens. Jovic won last year's final against Emiliana Arango.
