The Drop Shot

Each manager drafts a roster of ATP and WTA pros via a live snake draft, then earns Drop Shot Score based on those players' results across the season. A league holds 4 to 12 managers and runs across the tournaments the commissioner selects, with customizable scoring and waiver windows. Standings are one season-total leaderboard: the highest Drop Shot Score at the end of the season wins.

A salary-cap contest is a head-to-the-field game where you build a roster of ATP and WTA pros — 8 players by default — under a fixed budget of up to $250,000. Prices come from simulated runs of each draw: a player's expected Drop Shot Score across the contest's remaining tournaments, converted to dollars so that each tour's field adds up to the same pool. Everyone can own the same player, so contests have no exclusive rights, unlike a league draft.

Choose the winner of every match in an ATP or WTA singles draw, advancing your picks through the final. Correct winners earn the score published for their round; byes earn no score. Some contests combine both tours in one entry. Complete and submit your bracket before the published deadline, and resubmit any edits before lock. Each contest sets its own entries-per-person limit. Live scores and stats cover the full ATP and WTA tours: all four Grand Slams, every Masters and WTA 1000, plus the 500s and 250s. Your commissioner chooses which tournaments count toward your league's scoring. Salary-cap contests can span one tournament or multiple events. Bracket contests cover a supported singles elimination draw in one tournament edition.

Managers take turns choosing players, and the pick order reverses each round. Each player belongs to one team. On the default setup you draft 10 players and start 8 of them per tournament, and only your starters score. Every pick is on a clock: miss the draft and the room picks for you, from your queue first. The sample draft at /demo/draft lets you practice against simulated managers.

Every unrostered player is a free agent. Drop players and claim free agents off the waiver wire to reshape your roster as form and injuries shift. Waiver priority runs in reverse-standings order, so trailing teams pick first.

For salary-cap contests, it depends on lineup management. Managed contests give you one roster for a whole run of tournaments: between events you sell players at the contest's sellback rate times their current price and buy others at current price, and the only rule is that your cash never goes below zero. Set-and-forget contests lock your lineup when the contest starts, with no changes after. In both, a player scores for you in a tournament only if you were holding them when that tournament opened for the contest.

Yes. Create the league as Private and it is invite-only — friends join via a personal link and it stays off the public discovery page. That is also the fastest way to start: public leagues and contests are run by The Drop Shot, and you join or enter those. As commissioner you control scoring, bonuses, tournament coverage, the draft date and pick clock, waiver windows, and roster size, and can run a new season year after year.

Every match carries a pre-match prediction and live point, game, and match win probability that updates rally by rally. We publish the model's record openly: the Prediction Accuracy dashboard at /predictions/accuracy scores every prediction against the result and compares it to the sportsbook closing line wherever one was captured, split by tour and tournament level. Where the model doesn't beat the market, we say so.
