·500·HardIva Jovic defeated Magdalena Frech 6-2, 6-1 — Guadalajara Open 2026 Quarterfinal.
Magdalena Frech and Iva Jovic: Iva Jovic leads 2–0 across 2 recorded meetings.
Iva Jovic's title defense at the Guadalajara Open reached the semifinals with a 6-2, 6-1 quarterfinal win over Magdalena Frech. The No. 2 seed held all seven of her service games, breaking in game 2 of the opening set and again in game 8, then twice more for 3-1 and 5-1 in the second. Three games understates Frech's chances. The No. 7 seed, WTA No. 57, manufactured eight break points across the 90 minutes and converted none, with Jovic saving every one. Frech's own serve stood up early — she won 75 percent of her first-serve points in the opening set — before that figure fell to 36 percent in the second. Frech had come through to the quarterfinals without dropping a set, past Nao Hibino and Caroline Dolehide. She has now lost both meetings with Jovic on record, the first in the opening round at the US Open on Sept. 2.
