How leagues work

  1. 01

    Format

Snake-draft a team of ATP & WTA pros. Manager vs manager, all season.

Draft once, then ride your team across the full tour calendar — every Grand Slam, Masters, and the 500s and 250s your league includes. Points come from match wins, plus configurable bonuses for upsets, aces, breaks of serve, and fewest double faults. Prefer a one-event sprint? Salary-cap contests run alongside leagues — build a lineup under the cap against the whole field.

    Draft

A live snake draft with the whole league in the room.

Pick timers keep the draft moving, and your queue auto-drafts if you step away. Compare players without leaving the room — 4,300+ ATP & WTA profiles with career stats you can slice by surface, year, tournament, or opponent rank, plus live draws, brackets, and tournament winner odds — with live projections tuned to your league's scoring.

Live scores on every ATP and WTA match, with pre-match and in-match win probability that swings rally by rally. Follow a match for live alerts — set won, break of serve, match point — and an email with the final score. Your team's Score updates as results land, round by round. Check the model's record any time — misses included.

    Dominate

Standings update all season. Add and drop players between events.

Climb the table as results land. Swap players on waivers between events, talk trash on the league board, and settle it at the end of the season — highest score takes the title.

Scoring

How league scoring works.

Drop Shot scores come from real ATP and WTA results — commissioners customize the defaults.

Sign up for a public league or start a private league where you can pick which tournaments count, then run a snake draft to build your team of ATP and WTA stars.

Play in private leagues with friends, or join free public leagues and compete against the field.

Leagues are persistent: same managers year over year. Every season gets its own draft, lineup, and standings.

Pick which tournaments count, or use presets like Grand Slams only or every Masters & Slam.

Queue players in advance. If your pick timer expires, the system auto-picks the top queued name available.

Pick with live draft projections on every available player — projections respect your league's scoring settings and update as picks come in, so you can compare apples to apples while you’re on the clock.

Commissioners control invites, league size, tournaments, scoring, waiver schedule, and draft timing.

Frequently asked questions

Each manager drafts a roster of ATP and WTA pros via a live snake draft, then earns fantasy points based on those players' results across the season. Leagues run from the Australian Open through the year-end finals, with customizable scoring, waivers between tournaments, and head-to-head or total-points matchups.

Yes. The Drop Shot is 100% free to play. There are no paid tiers, no premium features, and no entry fees. The platform is supported by display advertising.

The Drop Shot covers the full ATP and WTA tours: all four Grand Slams, every Masters event, plus ATP and WTA 500s and 250s. League commissioners choose which tournament levels count toward their league's scoring.

Drafts use snake order — pick order reverses each round so the manager who picks last in round 1 picks first in round 2. The live draft room runs in real time with pick timers, a chat panel, pick queues, and live projections with Average Draft Position.

The commissioner sets roster size — the default is 10 players, with 8 starters and 2 bench per tournament. Draft any mix of ATP and WTA players in the live snake draft, then manage your lineup all season with the waiver wire.

Yes. Create the league as Private and it's invite-only — friends join via a personal link and it stays off the public discovery page. As commissioner you control scoring, bonuses, draft format, tournament coverage, waiver windows, and roster size, and can run a new season year after year.

Players earn points for advancing through each tournament (R32 → R16 → QF → SF → F → W), with extra points for upset wins and team bonuses for leading a tournament in aces, breaks of serve, or fewest double faults. Commissioners can customize every round value and bonus, or use the defaults out of the box.

Between tournaments, every unrostered player is a free agent. Drop players and claim free agents off the waiver wire to reshape your roster as form and injuries shift. Waiver priority runs in reverse-standings order, so trailing teams pick first.

Every match gets a pre-match prediction, then live point, game, and match win probability that updates rally by rally — a free account unlocks the model's pick and the live probability. The model's record is public either way: the Prediction Accuracy dashboard at /predictions/accuracy tracks the model against betting lines by surface, tour, and round — including the slices it loses.
