Wild card Dayana Yastremska reached the Wuhan Open second round with a three-set win over WTA No. 35 Cristina Bucsa. Yastremska was ranked 111th, but the betting market still had her as a narrow favorite at 53 percent. She now leads their meetings on record 2-0. The first was also a three-setter, a 6-4 4-6 7-6(5) win at the Qatar Open in February. There was almost nothing between them over 2 hours 17 minutes. Each player won 96 points.
