·500·HardAlycia Parks defeated Mei Yamaguchi 6-4, 6-3 — Singapore Tennis Open 2026 R32.
Alycia Parks and Mei Yamaguchi: Alycia Parks leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Alycia Parks opened her Singapore Tennis Open with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Mei Yamaguchi in the round of 32. Serve held little authority on either side: six of the 18 games went to the returner, and Parks converted four of her eight break points to Yamaguchi's two of seven. Both sets followed the same pattern. Parks broke in game 4 of the first for 3-1, Yamaguchi broke back in game 7, and Parks broke again in game 10 to close the set. Yamaguchi then broke to start the second before Parks levelled at 2-2 and broke once more in game 8 for 5-3. The loose part of Parks' 94 minutes was her own delivery: eight double faults, seven of them in the opening set, against six aces. Yamaguchi, a 27-year-old from Japan ranked WTA No. 253, was in the main draw as a lucky loser. Parks had lost her previous match, in Guadalajara a week earlier.
