Martin Damm

Martin Damm shares a name and a trade with his father, the Czech doubles specialist who won the 2006 US Open doubles title alongside Leander Paes. The younger Damm is American, born September 30, 2003, in Bradenton, Florida, and he built his own case early: a junior ranking that peaked at No. 3 and a 2019 US Open men's doubles wildcard with Toby Kodat that made them the youngest duo to win a match there in the Open Era. He turned pro in 2020.

Listed at 2.03 meters, he plays the geometry you would expect. The left-handed serve has produced a 17.6 percent career ace rate and 88.5 percent of service games held, while his return wins just 30 percent of points, so sets funnel toward tiebreaks. Fittingly, his first match win at Wimbledon, in June 2026 over Marco Trungelliti, required four of them.

Injuries interrupted the early pro seasons; the markers since chart a steady climb. At the Miami Open in March 2024 he collected his first tour-level win, then beat Tommy Paul, the ATP No. 14 at the time and still his best win by ranking. His first Grand Slam match win followed at the US Open in 2025, over fellow American Darwin Blanch.

As of August 2026 the ledger reads modest, 7-10 on the season with zero tour titles, but the direction does not: on August 4 the 22-year-old cracked the top 100 for the first time, a career-high ATP No. 100 after sitting No. 294 a year earlier. He opens the Canadian Open against Stefanos Tsitsipas, another measuring stick for a serve that already travels.
