Four main-draw matches, a 2-2 record, and a career-best Grand Slam result: that's where Mananchaya Sawangkaew's 2026 sits. After a straight-sets Australian Open exit to Emma Raducanu, she reeled off two Wimbledon wins — from a set down over Maja Chwalinska, then a 7-5, 6-0 dismissal of Alycia Parks — before Karolina Muchova stopped her 6-2, 7-6(1) in the Round of 32. The second-set tiebreak was as close as she got, but reaching a Slam's third round at No. 164 reshapes the rest of her year.

Thai tennis does not mass-produce top-100 players, which frames what follows. Born 10 July 2002 in Sing Buri province, Sawangkaew won her first ITF 15K at home in Hua Hin in 2018 and reached No. 14 in the junior rankings, then detoured through a 2021-22 season at Oklahoma State before turning full-time pro. She has played Billie Jean King Cup for Thailand since 2019.
Right-handed with a two-handed backhand, she is a returner before she is a server. Across seven tour-level matches on record she has won 43.5 percent of return points while holding only 65.2 percent of her own service games, with an ace rate under 4 percent and a 0.69 winners-to-unforced ratio. The game runs on depth and court coverage, not free points.
The breakthrough came at the 2024 China Open, where a 6-2, 6-3 win over Zarina Diyas was her first in a Tour main draw before Aryna Sabalenka ended the week two days later. Quarterfinals in Guangzhou and Jiujiang carried her to No. 129, and 2025 added a Mumbai 125 final and a first week inside the top 100 in June before a back injury shut the season down. She answered in 2026 with the W75 Nonthaburi title in January, an Australian Open main-draw debut as a wildcard against Emma Raducanu, the Mumbai 125 trophy, and a Wimbledon third round built on a recovery from a set down against 21st-ranked Maja Chwalinska.
As of late August 2026 she sits at a career-high No. 97, up from 247 at the season's start and No. 120 a year ago. The qualifying win over compatriot Lanlana Tararudee at the Cincinnati Open got her there, putting two Thai women inside the top 100 for the first time. A Tour-level title is the line still missing.
