Sign upSolana Sierra defeated Cadence Brace 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 — SP Open 2026 R32.
Cadence Brace and Solana Sierra: Solana Sierra leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Third seed Solana Sierra claimed her first win since Wimbledon in late June, beating qualifier Cadence Brace in three sets in the round of 32 at the SP Open. The 22-year-old Argentine, WTA No. 90, arrived in São Paulo on a three-match losing run that ended with a first-round exit at the US Open at the end of August. Neither player could depend on her serve. Sierra held six of her 13 service games, Brace four of 13, and the opening set alone produced seven breaks. Brace, a 21-year-old Canadian ranked WTA No. 249, had her best stretch in the second set, breaking in game 7 and again in game 9 to take it 6-3; Sierra hit eight of her 17 double faults in that set. The decider went the other way. Sierra broke in games 1 and 3 for 3-0, and after Brace pulled one back in game 4, Sierra broke again in game 5 for 4-1. Brace saved one match point. Sierra won 69 percent of her return games to Brace's 54, and advances to the round of 16.
