Veronika Podrez

Veronika Podrez is a Ukrainian teenager with a short tour-level résumé and a fast-moving ranking. She was born on 11 January 2007, began 2026 at WTA No. 284, and stands at WTA No. 126 with 586 points as of 14 September 2026, the highest position in her recorded ranking history. A year earlier, the last stored snapshot had her at WTA No. 418.

Her one recorded run of the season came in April at the Open de Rouen, a clay-court WTA 250, where she went 3-1 and reached the final. She beat Elisabetta Cocciaretto, then WTA No. 41, 7-6(5), 4-6, 6-4 in the round of 16, and conceded five games to Katie Boulter in a 6-4, 6-1 quarterfinal. A semifinal win over Sorana Cirstea, then WTA No. 26, put her in the title match, where Marta Kostyuk won 6-3, 6-4.

Those four matches are also the whole of her statistical record for the season, and in them she won a marginally higher share of return points than of her own service points, 49.8 percent to 48.6, and held under half her service games. One week on clay is a thin sample, and the service numbers are the part of it worth watching as her record grows.

She has no injury absences on record, and at 19 the Rouen final remains the best finish in her recorded results.
