Alycia Parks vs Alexandra Eala — R64 — Canadian Open

Return chances came at a premium. Alycia Parks saw two break points all afternoon and took both, though that reads better than it played: Eala held 11 of 13 service games and broke five times against a 52 percent first-serve day from the other end. The decider hinged on an instant reply, Parks breaking in game 4 for 2-2 and the 25th seed breaking right back in game 5 for 3-2, then again in game 7 for 5-2. An hour and 51 minutes stretches Eala's win streak to six since her Washington title; Caty McNally (No. 73) is next.
