Alexandra Eala defeated Caty McNally 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 — Canadian Open 2026 R32.
Caty McNally and Alexandra Eala: Alexandra Eala leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
The decider hinged on a single return game. Alexandra Eala broke for 1-0 to open the third and then faced nothing at all, McNally finishing the set without a break point after converting six of her eight chances across the first two — in a match where serve held just 18 of 31 times. It is a second straight three-setter for the No. 25 seed, who also needed a decider to get past Alycia Parks. Two hours, 33 minutes of it books a meeting with Belinda Bencic, the No. 14.
