·Masters·HardSinja Kraus defeated Dayana Yastremska 6-1, 6-4 — China Open 2026 R32.
Sinja Kraus and Dayana Yastremska: Sinja Kraus leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Sinja Kraus reached the China Open round of 16 with a straight-sets win over Dayana Yastremska. Yastremska began the season at WTA No. 27 and had fallen to No. 111, but the betting market still made her a 70 percent favorite. Kraus is a 24-year-old Austrian ranked 95th. This season she had lost in the first round at Miami, Madrid, Rome and Cincinnati. Earlier in Beijing, she beat Maya Joint in three sets. She then advanced when Anastasia Potapova retired with Kraus leading 4-1. Yastremska held serve only twice in the match. Her one game in the opening set came on a break for 1-1, and she won just 35 percent of her first-serve points in that set. In the second set, Yastremska broke for leads of 2-1 and 3-2, but Kraus broke straight back each time. Yastremska later saved three match points before Kraus closed it out.
