Hubert Hurkacz defeated Luciano Darderi 7(7)-6(4), 5-7, 6-1 — Monte-Carlo Masters 2026 R64.
Hubert Hurkacz and Luciano Darderi: Hubert Hurkacz leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Hurkacz entered 53 spots below Darderi and on a five-match losing streak, but his first serve flipped the script in Monte-Carlo: 83% of first-serve points won to Darderi's 60%, a 23-point gap that the Italian never closed. The trade was bumpy — both held set points and Hurkacz survived a match point in the second set he dropped 7-5 — but the decider was lopsided, three breaks (games 3, 5 and 7) on the way to a 6-1 close. He next faces Fabian Marozsan.
