Cruz Hewitt defeated Sebastian Gorzny 1-6, 7(7)-6(3), 6-4 — Winston-Salem Open 2026 R64.
Sebastian Gorzny and Cruz Hewitt: Cruz Hewitt leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Game 9 of the third decided it, Cruz Hewitt breaking for 5-4 behind 81 percent of first-serve points won in that set, up from 45 percent in an opening set where Sebastian Gorzny landed five of his 12 aces. The second set is where the serve came back. Broken while serving for it in game 9 (for 4-5), Hewitt took the tiebreak anyway, then converted 2 of 7 break points in the decider as Gorzny's first-serve points won slid to 58 percent. The lucky loser won 100 of the 193 points and still lost. Two hours and 10 minutes on court, and the 17-year-old wild card, ranked ATP No. 664 when the season began, is into the round of 32.
