Gabriel Diallo held all 14 of his service games at the Canadian Open, broke three times from five chances, and lifted his first-serve points won from 62 percent in the opener to 93 by the third. One tiebreak was all that serving bought Jacquet. Diallo answered with a break in game 2 of the second for 2-0 and added two more in the third — game 5 for 3-2, game 7 for 5-2 — while the qualifier's first-serve rate sank from a first-set 81 percent to 55. The Montreal-born wild card wrapped it in two hours and five minutes and moves into the round of 64.
