Alejandro Tabilo defeated Yannick Hanfmann 6-3, 6-2, 6(7)-7(9), 6-3 — US Open 2026 R128.
Yannick Hanfmann and Alejandro Tabilo: Alejandro Tabilo leads 2–0 across 2 recorded meetings.
The bigger hitting numbers belonged to the man who lost, as Hanfmann finished with 41 winners and 12 aces to nine, and also with 48 unforced errors against Tabilo's 20. That gap did the arithmetic. The 25th seed took 5 of his 10 break points, gave up one from five, and held 18 of 19 service games; after the German forced a third-set tiebreak, Tabilo broke in game 6 of the fourth for 4-2 and closed the set with a single unforced error. Two hours, 36 minutes, and a second round at the US Open for a player who was 8-8 on hard this season coming in.
