·250·HardYunchaokete Bu defeated Michael Zheng 6-4, 6-3 — Hangzhou Open 2026 R32.
Yunchaokete Bu and Michael Zheng are level at 1–1 across 2 recorded meetings.
Yunchaokete Bu opened the Hangzhou Open with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Michael Zheng, three weeks after Zheng had beaten him in four sets at the US Open. That was the pair's only prior meeting on record, and this one levels the series at 1-1. Zheng, a 22-year-old American in the draw on a wild card, came in ranked No. 88 to Bu's No. 114, and the betting market made him a narrow favorite at 55%. The opening set was the contested one. Bu broke in game 4 for 3-1, Zheng broke back in game 9 to reach 4-5, and Bu broke straight away in game 10 to take it 6-4. All seven of Zheng's break points in the match came in that set; he converted one. After that, Zheng did not reach another break point. Bu hit six of his eight aces in the second set, broke in game 6 for 4-2 and closed it out 6-3, finishing the 1-hour-26-minute match having won 29 of his 34 first-serve points and held nine of his ten service games. Bu, the 24-year-old from Xinjiang, plays Kamil Majchrzak, ranked No. 73, for a quarterfinal place.
