·Masters·HardRenata Zarazua defeated Anna Bondar 7(7)-6(4), 6-3 — China Open 2026 R128.
Anna Bondar and Renata Zarazua are level at 1–1 across 2 recorded meetings.
Renata Zarazua reversed a loss from eight days earlier, beating Anna Bondar in the opening round of the China Open in Beijing. Bondar had come from a set down to beat Zarazua in the Korea Open round of 32, their only previous meeting on record, before reaching the semifinals there. The betting market made Bondar, ranked 69th, a 67 percent favorite over Zarazua, the WTA No. 92 from Mexico. The straight-sets win took two hours and 10 minutes, with six breaks of serve in the first set alone. Zarazua converted three of 11 break points in that set. Bondar took all three of hers, the last for a 5-3 lead in game 8, but Zarazua broke straight back and later won the tiebreak. In the second set, Bondar broke in the opening game. Zarazua leveled at 3-3 with a break in game 6, broke again in game 8 for 5-3 and served out the match. Across the two sets, she created 15 break points to Bondar's six and finished with one more break, five to four. Bondar won only 11 of 31 points behind her second serve. Zarazua had lost five straight hard-court matches coming in, three of them after winning the opening set. She ended that run on her 29th birthday.
