Six double faults and 24 unforced errors sank Coco Gauff's opening set at Wimbledon, and Belinda Bencic collected the decisive break in game 9, for 5-4, before serving it out. Then the errors dried up. Gauff cut her count to eight in the second set, won 72% of first-serve points and converted both break chances to level; in the third she struck 17 winners, and after Bencic broke back in game 4 for 2-2, re-broke immediately in game 5 for 3-2 and closed it 4-6 6-3 6-4. It's her fifth win in six meetings on record against Bencic — the first on grass — and a third straight three-setter this fortnight, with a quarterfinal berth the payoff.
