·250·HardLanlana Tararudee defeated Sohyun Park 7(7)-6(5), 6-0 — Korea Open 2026 R16.
Lanlana Tararudee and Sohyun Park: Lanlana Tararudee leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Lanlana Tararudee needed an hour and 35 minutes and a first-set tiebreak to get past Sohyun Park at the Korea Open, and the third seed is through to the quarterfinals in Seoul. Serve offered little protection in the opening set, which contained six breaks. Tararudee broke in game 9 to get back to 4-5 and again in game 11 for 6-5, then lost her own serve in game 12 and had to settle it in the tiebreak. The second set went one way: she broke in the second and fourth games, won every point behind her first serve, and Park did not take a game. Park, a 24-year-old Korean ranked WTA No. 328, had beaten Robin Montgomery in straight sets to reach the second round. She won three of her nine return games; Tararudee won five of eight. Tararudee, 22, was an 84 percent favorite with the betting market. She began the season at WTA No. 131 and sits at No. 61, her best of the year.
