Julia Grabher defeated Paula Badosa 7(7)-6(3), 4-6, 6-0 — Madrid Open 2026 R128.
Paula Badosa and Julia Grabher: Julia Grabher leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Julia Grabher saved the decider from going either way before pulling clear with a 6-0 third set — two match points came and went prior to the finish, but Badosa's serve collapsed after a tight middle frame. The Austrian's 12 double faults from her opponent told the tale: Badosa dropped serve four times in set three alone. Grabher hit 68% of first serves to Badosa's 58% and books a date with Leylah Fernandez.
