·500·HardKyrian Jacquet defeated Holger Rune 6-3, 6-1 — Japan Open 2026 R32.
Holger Rune and Kyrian Jacquet: Kyrian Jacquet leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Kyrian Jacquet, a Frenchman ranked 107th, did not face a break point in a 53-minute win over Holger Rune in the Japan Open round of 32. It was Rune's first match on record since he lost to Valentin Vacherot in the Shanghai Masters quarterfinals in October 2025. He began this season at ATP No. 15 and arrived in Tokyo ranked 142nd, but the betting market still made him the favorite. Jacquet entered as a special exempt after a run to the Hangzhou semifinals that ended three days earlier. He broke for a 3-1 lead in the opening set, then broke in the first game of the second and again for 4-1. Only 43% of his first serves went in, but he won all 19 of those points.
