Thiago Agustin Tirante vs Martin Landaluce — R32 — Cincinnati Open

The second serve settled a match nothing else could. Tirante won 27 of 35 points behind his, 77 percent against 59 for Landaluce, whose 44 unforced errors — 26 of them in the opening set, where he broke in game 1 for 1-0 and was broken back in game 4 for 2-2 — undid the cleaner striking that gave him 27 winners to 24. The player ranked one place above him saved 9 of 10 break points and still finished the points count 75-88. Two hours and 15 minutes of that, and Tirante owns a round-of-16 spot that backs up a win over No. 5 Djokovic two days earlier, the highest-ranked win on his record.
