Rinky Hijikata vs Andrey Rublev — R16 — Hangzhou Open

Andrey Rublev, seeded second, is into the Hangzhou Open quarterfinals after a straight-sets win over Rinky Hijikata that took 1 hour, 16 minutes. It was Rublev's first match of the week, following a first-round bye, and his first win since the US Open. Rublev held all nine of his service games, hit 11 aces and never faced a break point. He broke Hijikata three times from nine chances, including in game 7 of the first set for 4-3 and in game 2 of the second. Hijikata, the 25-year-old Australian ranked ATP No. 82 after starting the season at No. 111, had beaten Dalibor Svrcina to reach the last 16. His first serve stood up in the second set, where he won 90% of those points, but across the match he won only 42% of his second-serve points, against 78% for Rublev.
