Shuai Zhang and Cristina Bucsa: Shuai Zhang leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
World No. 73 Shuai Zhang ran down 31st-ranked Cristina Bucsa in their first meeting, converting 7 of 10 break points (70%) to Bucsa's 8 of 18 (44%) — the return-game efficiency that papered over an even tally of 116 points to 118. Bucsa took the opener 6-2 but couldn't close, dropping the second-set tiebreak from a 7-7 board and getting broken late in the decider. Zhang saved 10 of 18 break points herself, surviving seven double faults to steal a match she split down the middle.
