Renata Zarazua and Caroline Dolehide: Caroline Dolehide leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Caroline Dolehide, a qualifier ranked WTA No. 246, beat Mexico's Renata Zarazua in three sets in the Round of 32 at the Guadalajara Open. Zarazua came in at WTA No. 91, though bet365 had made her only a 50 percent favorite. Dolehide broke in game 2 of the opening set and twice more, in games 6 and 7, to take it 6-1, with Zarazua winning 43 percent of her first-serve points in that set. That figure rose to 71 percent in the second, which Zarazua claimed 6-3 with breaks in games 4, 8 and 9 around a Dolehide break back in game 7. The third set turned on one break, Dolehide taking the Zarazua serve in game 6 for 4-2, and Zarazua did not reach a break point in the set. Dolehide began the season at WTA No. 109, and her last six hard-court matches on record before this tournament were all defeats, back to July 2025. She reached the final here in 2023, losing to Maria Sakkari. Zarazua arrived 6-9 on hard courts this season, and the two had no prior meetings on record.
