Xiyu Wang vs Yuliia Starodubtseva — R32 — French Open

World No. 148 Xiyu Wang took down the 93-spot-higher Yuliia Starodubtseva 6-3, 7-5 in Paris by turning return chances into breaks the favourite couldn't answer — 6 of 8 break points converted to Starodubtseva's 4 of 13. The serve held up underneath it: Wang saved 9 of 13 break points and committed zero double faults while Starodubtseva piled up 40 unforced errors to Wang's 25. In their first meeting, and first on clay, Wang closed it out by breaking back to flip a 5-5 second set.
