Darja Vidmanova defeated Kimberly Birrell 7(7)-6(2), 6-3 — Monterrey Open 2026 R32.
Darja Vidmanova and Kimberly Birrell: Darja Vidmanova leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Ten double faults will spoil an otherwise productive day on return. Kimberly Birrell took 3 of her 4 break chances and still lost the points count 76-63, with six of those doubles arriving in the opener alone. Darja Vidmanova, through qualifying and ranked 88th, broke back in game 12 for 6-6 to drag the first set to a tiebreak, then broke again in game 7 for 4-3. The 1-hour, 46-minute win ends a two-match losing run and books her a Monterrey Open round of 16.
