Frances Tiafoe defeated Ignacio Buse 6(5)-7(7), 6-3, 6-2 — Italian Open 2026 R64.
Frances Tiafoe and Ignacio Buse: Frances Tiafoe leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Tiafoe lost the opening set in a 7-5 tiebreak and then fixed the one thing that was killing him: the return. After converting just enough early, he finished 7 of 13 on break points and broke Buse repeatedly across the back two sets, taking 11 of the final 18 games. The Peruvian's serve carried the first hour — 10 aces to Tiafoe's 2 — but his second delivery cratered, winning only 40% of those points, and 42 unforced errors handed the match away in their first career meeting.
