Yuliia Starodubtseva defeated Lilli Tagger 6-3, 6-4 — Monterrey Open 2026 R32.
Lilli Tagger and Yuliia Starodubtseva: Yuliia Starodubtseva leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
The Prague Open champion came in as the betting market's 64 percent pick and left having lost serve five times. Tagger, the 18-year-old Austrian, double-faulted five times without an ace and held five of her ten service games. Starodubtseva converted five of ten break chances to the favorite's two, the sharpest an immediate break back in game 8 for 4-4. The Ukrainian had lost six straight since June; 1 hour 40 minutes at the Monterrey Open ended that slide and put her into the last 16.
