Lilli Tagger defeated Ella Seidel 6-7, 6-4, 7-5 — Miami Open 2026 R128.
Lilli Tagger and Ella Seidel: Lilli Tagger leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Lilli Tagger, ranked 29 spots below her opponent at #115, turned Ella Seidel's serve against her to steal the Miami opener. Seidel coughed up seven double faults to Tagger's three, and once the favorite dropped to 39% on second-serve points, the margins vanished. The decider swung on a break exchange — Tagger broke in games 1, 7 and 11 around two Seidel breaks — with two match points coming and going before the finish. Tagger, winless since her Indian Wells run, draws Ekaterina Alexandrova next.
