Diana Shnaider vs Tereza Valentova — R64 — Miami Open

Two sets, two tiebreaks, and a 51-minute scoreboard that says less than the margins did. Shnaider won 75% of her first-serve points to Valentova's 59%, the gap that carried her through both breakers even as the Czech matched her game for game — 12 apiece. Both played loose: five double faults for Shnaider, eight for Valentova, who couldn't convert her second-serve edge (52% won) into a set. Shnaider takes the 1-0 head-to-head and a date with Belinda Bencic.
