Aryna Sabalenka defeated Talia Gibson 6-2, 7(7)-6(2) — Cincinnati Open 2026 R64.
Aryna Sabalenka and Talia Gibson: Aryna Sabalenka leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Ten of Sabalenka's 13 aces arrived in the second set, the one she came closest to handing back. The top seed broke in game 11 for 6-5, was broken straight back in game 12, and needed 1:51 and four breaks from seven chances to move past a 74th-ranked opponent who saved five match points before the tiebreak. Seven double faults left Gibson no margin to work with, and Sabalenka goes through at the Cincinnati Open.
