Karolina Pliskova vs Sinja Kraus — R128 — Madrid Open

Ranked 197th to Sinja Kraus's 104, Karolina Pliskova dropped the opener 6-2 and then reversed the match on serve — 68% of first serves landed against Kraus's 57%, and seven aces to four across the three sets. Her edge held off the second ball too: 54% of second-serve return points won, enough to break the Austrian repeatedly through the middle set. From 38% on Kraus's first delivery to a 14-11 games margin, the underdog stacked the small advantages until the favourite ran out of holds.
