The 66th-ranked Vallejo out-hit the 18th seed 30 winners to 18 and lost anyway. Two hours and nine minutes leaves Paul in the Cincinnati Open round of 16 on a second straight three-setter after Hurkacz, and he has now beaten Vallejo by the same route in both meetings on record.
