Casper Ruud defeated Lorenzo Musetti 6-3, 6-1 — Italian Open 2026 R16.
Lorenzo Musetti and Casper Ruud: Casper Ruud leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
The No. 25-ranked Casper Ruud flipped the form chart on No. 10 Lorenzo Musetti, converting 4 of 11 break points while the Italian went 0-for-2 on his own chances. That return pressure did the damage: Ruud won 49% of first-return points to Musetti's 29%, and broke four times to take the match 6-3, 6-1. Musetti's 25 unforced errors to 14 sank him in their first meeting, and first on clay — a surface where the seeding suggested the opposite result.
