Jannik Sinner defeated Alex Michelsen 7-5, 7(7)-6(4) — Miami Open 2026 R16.
Alex Michelsen and Jannik Sinner: Jannik Sinner leads 3–0 across 3 recorded meetings.
Sinner made his serve do the work in a tighter-than-expected straight-setter, winning 90% of first-serve points and dropping zero double faults across 109 minutes. Michelsen, riding three Miami Open wins including a comeback over Tabilo, actually converted at a higher clip (1 of 2 vs Sinner's 2 of 7) but couldn't break in the second set. Sinner's three breaks late in set one — games 9, 11 and 12 — settled it. Tiafoe is next.
