Tatjana Maria defeated Tereza Valentova 6-3, 7-5 — Eastbourne International 2026 Quarterfinal.
Tatjana Maria and Tereza Valentova: Tatjana Maria leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
The ranking board said Valentova at #61 over Maria at #112, but the #61 won her break-point chances and almost nothing else. Valentova converted both break points she earned, yet got just two looks all match — Maria saved neither, while taking 4 of her own 10. The serve told the rest: 8 aces to 3 and 75% of first-serve points won, climbing to 90% in the second set after the underdog wobbled to 5-5. First grass meeting between the two, and Maria's slice carried it.
