Jessica Bouzas Maneiro vs Elena Rybakina — R64 — US Open

Return pressure decided this one. Rybakina converted four of six break chances and held eight of her nine service games, while Bouzas Maneiro got through only five of hers, the No. 2 seed adding seven aces and 78 percent of first-serve points won. The Spaniard's one opening came in game 9 of the second set, a break for 4-5 that Rybakina answered immediately in game 10. Two matches into New York she has yet to drop a set, with Starodubtseva, the 74th-ranked qualifier's-side survivor, next.
