Kamil Majchrzak vs Benjamin Bonzi — R64 — Winston-Salem Open

Backed at 63 percent by the betting market, Kamil Majchrzak won exactly half of the 150 points played and went out anyway. Benjamin Bonzi flipped it with a serve that misbehaved for most of the afternoon — nine double faults, 50 percent first serves — and still held nine of his 11 service games, breaking in game 9 for 5-4 and again in game 10 to close the opener. The 30-year-old Pole saved two match points in the tiebreak and lost it regardless, one hour and 48 minutes in. It is the Frenchman's first win since June 11 at Rosmalen, ending a three-match losing run for a player who had been 1-3 on hard courts this season.
