Eva Lys defeated Gabriela Ce 6-1, 5-7, 7-5 — SP Open 2026 R32.
Eva Lys and Gabriela Ce: Eva Lys leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Fifth seed Eva Lys opened her SP Open with a 6-1, 5-7, 7-5 win over Brazilian wild card Gabriela Ce in the round of 32 of the São Paulo WTA 250. Holding serve was the hard part for both women: serve was broken 16 times in 31 games, with 14 double faults between them. Lys held nine of her 16 service games, Ce six of 15. Ce broke to open the match and then failed to win another game in the set. She was down two breaks early in the second as well, before breaking back in game four, again in game 10 for 5-5, and once more in game 12 to level the match. The decider brought seven further breaks, four of them to Lys, who converted four of five break points in the set. Across the match Lys converted 82% of her break points to Ce's 47%, the 33-year-old creating the more chances — 15 to 11 — and taking fewer of them. Lys, WTA No. 98, arrived in Brazil 1-5 on hard courts this season. Ce was ranked WTA No. 336.
