Rinky Hijikata and Tommy Paul: Tommy Paul leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Tommy Paul was a set and a break short of trouble before his second serve carried him out of it. After dropping the opener and the third, the American won 62% of his second-serve points to Rinky Hijikata's 41%, the gap that powered the recovery across four sets. Paul saved 9 of 12 break points, converted 5 of 11 the other way, and out-aced Hijikata 13 to 6 in the French Open first round.
