Talia Gibson and Naomi Osaka are level at 1–1 across 2 recorded meetings.
Talia Gibson, ranked No. 68, out-served the player who hit more than twice her aces. Naomi Osaka fired 13 to Gibson's 5 and won 85% of her first serves, but those free points didn't cover the rest of the ledger. Gibson got back into the opener with a break in game 11 to take it 7-5, then jumped Osaka's serve immediately in game 1 of the second. Two match points came and went before she closed it. Gibson, level at 1-1 in the H2H, books a meeting with Iva Jovic.
