Talia Gibson vs Emiliana Arango — R128 — Madrid Open

World No. 86 Emiliana Arango flipped the ranking script on No. 58 Talia Gibson, and the gap was all on serve: Arango won 56% of her first-serve points to Gibson's 37%, a 19-point chasm that left the favourite scrambling from the start. Arango also bossed the return, taking 63% of first-serve returns and converting that pressure into 12 of 17 games in their first career meeting. Gibson's 64% first-serve rate never translated — she won just five games across 83 minutes.
