Dalma Galfi vs Ajla Tomljanovic — R128 — Madrid Open

Dalma Galfi, ranked #117, knocked off the #85-seeded Ajla Tomljanovic 7-6(7) 6-4 in their first career meeting, the first round-of-128 upset of note in Madrid. The edge came on the return: Galfi won 69% of her second-serve return points and 43% on first-return, feeding off Tomljanovic's 11 double faults. Galfi's own serve wasn't pristine — seven aces against seven doubles — but she took 53% of total points and never dropped the second set after surviving a 9-7 tiebreak.
