Rafael Jodar defeated Joao Fonseca 7-6, 4-6, 6-1 — Madrid Open 2026 R32.
Joao Fonseca and Rafael Jodar: Rafael Jodar leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Rafael Jodar flipped a one-set deficit by dismantling the Joao Fonseca second serve down the stretch — the Brazilian, who won 61% of his second-serve points to Jodar's 46%, had no answer once the decider opened, dropping it 6-1. Jodar's 81% on first-serve points (to Fonseca's 69%) carried him through a tight opener he stole in a tiebreak, and he closed with 29 winners to Fonseca's 20 in their first meeting.
