Frances Tiafoe defeated Jaime Faria 4-6, 6(2)-7(7), 7(7)-6(4), 6-1, 6-2 — French Open 2026 R32.
Jaime Faria and Frances Tiafoe: Frances Tiafoe leads 1–0 across 1 recorded meeting.
Frances Tiafoe was two sets down to Jaime Faria before the match swung on the third-set tiebreak, and once it did the floor fell out from under the Portuguese. Tiafoe leaned on a first-serve that won 79% of its points to Faria's 68%, and after edging a 7-2 breaker he ceded just three games across the final two sets to close 6-1, 6-2. The error count tells the recovery: Faria piled up 52 unforced to Tiafoe's 37, and his 26 aces couldn't offset it. First clash between them, first on clay — Tiafoe takes the H2H lead.
