Matteo Berrettini vs Francisco Comesana — R32 — French Open

Five hours and twelve minutes, and it came down to a fifth-set tiebreak that ran to 15-13 — Matteo Berrettini survived three sets that slipped away and still found a way past Francisco Comesana in their first meeting and first clash on clay. The margin was almost nonexistent: 199 points to 190, 29 games apiece. Comesana actually returned more efficiently, converting 3 of 8 break points (38%) to Berrettini's 3 of 13 (23%), but his 7 double faults and a 43% second-serve win rate left the door cracked. Berrettini won 55% behind his own second ball and matched Comesana's 20 aces to edge a war neither man controlled.
