Matteo Berrettini defeated Titouan Droguet 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in the R128 of the Cincinnati Open 2026.
The comeback ran through the first-serve column. Droguet won every point behind his first delivery in the opening set and only 60 percent of them in the second, where Berrettini broke for 3-1 in game 4 and wound up converting three of six break points to the qualifier's one of two. Droguet never broke again. Berrettini, at 87 percent on his own first-serve points, needed one more break in the third, in game 7 for 4-3, and closed on a second look after the qualifier saved a match point, two hours in. The 30-year-old Roman leaves with his first win since Wimbledon, the Canadian Open having ended for him in the opening round.
Titouan Droguet: 7 aces, 75% first serves, 3 double faults, 1/2 break points. Matteo Berrettini: 9 aces, 67% first serves, 4 double faults, 3/6 break points.
